  • 1/4 lard (bacon, or vegetable oil)
  • 3 sweet onions (medium, sliced)
  • 1/4 cup minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 5 bottles Budweiser
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 12 brats (plain, Johnsonville is my favorite)

    Directions

    1. Heat lard or oil on medium heat for about 1 minute
    2. Add onions and turn up heat to me-hi, cook until edges start to brown (season with salt and pepper as desired)
    3. Reduce heat to me-low and cook until onions are soft and mostly brown
