    So good! Added saracha to turn up the spice. Have made it many times. Calories are a bit off though. Plenty of food for 6 servings.

    My 9 yr old ate it for breakfast the next day! That’s how I know it was a winner ! Definitely on the keeper list. Filling, easy, nutritious! Please don’t tell them I added kale to the sauté step 😉

    This turned out great. It was a little spicy in the end (even with decreasing the amount of Tabasco and Cayenne) so I added some sugar to balance. I really thought it was going to be too wet. I followed the Yummly adjustment for 6 servings and in the end the amount of liquid was just right for the rice. Realize, brown rice can absorb a lot of water as can beans, but sometimes you have to be patient. Yummly did not provide an adjustment on the cooking time but I believe I cooked it for about 70 min and then I let it sit for a while in the pot after stirring in the beans to allow as much moisture to be absorbed as possible

    I have made this several times and it’s a great dish. You can also make in an instant pot for an easy weeknight meal by reducing the stock by half.

    This recipe was so easy to follow and SO delicious!! I didn’t have brown rice so I used white rice instead and it turned out great and the cooking time was in line with the recipe’s. Oh I also used Franks instead of Tabasco. I’ll definitely be adding it to my favorites!

    I made this and loved it. I did not really realize how much it was going to make so a few friends also had dinner. They raved about it. I will definitely be making it again but adding shrimp next time

    Very good but the rice took WAY longer to cook. Like 2 hours. Turn up the heat on that! It’s also very spicy so if you’re sensitive to spicy stuff cut the Tabasco and cayenne pepper in half.
