  • cornflour (/ cornstarch)
  • 4 tablespoons oil (high smoke, I used peanut oil)
  • 4 tablespoons tamari (for gluten-free version or soy sauce)
  • 1/2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or dark brown sugar)
  • 2 cornflour (level tsp, / cornstarch)
  • 3 large garlic cloves (pressed)
  • 5 teaspoons ginger (grated)
  • 1 chilli pepper (sliced thinly or chilli flakes, to taste)
  • 3 spring onions (small, sliced thinly)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • sesame seeds (to garnish, optional)

    My vegeterian guest loved it! I would definitely make it again and use the sauce for another dish eg chicken
