  • 2 onions (peeled and finely chopped)
  • 4 large carrots (peeled and finely chopped)
  • 2 celery stalks (finely chopped)
  • 4 garlic cloves (peeled and crushed)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 ground coriander (tbsn)
  • 1 ground cumin (tbsn)
  • 1 paprika (tbsn)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger (0r fresh)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 teaspoons chillies (crushed)
  • 2 cups lentils (red, split)
  • 1 can tomato puree (not paste)
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 750 milliliters lamb stock (/ water, I used NoMu’s Lamb Fond)
