  • 1 1/2 tablespoons coconut (or unprocessed sugar, 22.5ml)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder (10ml)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk (vegan, up to 1½ cups almond or soy milk and 1½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 flax (or regular egg, for a flax egg combine 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed with 3 tablespoons of water. Sit for 5 minutes)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (vegan or regular, spread, 30ml)
