Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar (divided)
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    Directions

    1. Line two baking sheets with silicone baking mats or parchment paper. Set aside.
    2. Measure 1/4 cup (50g) of granulated sugar into a small bowl. Set aside.
    3. Place the softened butter and the remaining 1 cup (200g) of granulated sugar into a large bowl. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, cream together the butter and sugar on medium speed for 1 minute, or until pale and fluffy.

    very good recipe, followed the directions altho next time i will just freeze all the cookies before i turn the oven on that way i can just pull some out when i want a few. since the recipe says to feeze dough 10 to 15 minutes prior to baking i dont see why this wouldnt be a great make ahead and freeze recipe.
