    It was tasty with some modifications. After reading the reviews, I made the rice separately to avoid it getting over-cooked. The flavor itself is also pretty bland. I added cayenne pepper, chili powder, garlic, red pepper flakes, oregano, paprika, and cumin to give it some taste, and an habañero pepper to spice it up. Oh, and I highly recommend adding corn! It tastes great and keeps the texture from being too mushy.

    Like many others, I couldn't get the rice to cook. I finally had to remove half to get it to cook. Maybe try white rice or a smaller batch.

    Super simple to make and tastes good. I added some more tomatoes to make it a little more saucy, but that's a preference :)

    The flavor is spot on its so good, i added harissa for extra flavor. i think I'll make everything seperate next time though. the beans and rice melded together to form a thick paste which ruined it for me, it was the consistency of oatmeal.

    This is the the definition of a perfect slow cooker meal. Delicious, easy, and fast to make. I bought the instant Spanish-type rice, added all the ingredients plus jalapenos and corn. My toppings of choice were Mexican-style shredded cheese and jalapenos. This was sooo good!

    This was pretty good. I used jalapeño for the pepper and tapitio as the hot sauce. I added chicken as a topping, I will make this again

    This is pretty good! Saw some people were having issues with the rice so I used boil-in-a-bag rice and slow cooked on low for 2 hours and it came out perfectly. I also used 1/4 tsp of garlic powder. Next time will prob use Mexican style diced tomatoes.

    This recipe is awesome! I made it and fed me and five friends. We used tortillas and made a burrito bar with different toppings. I will probably add extra black beans next time.

    Had to sub most of the brown rice with jasmine rice - so added a drop more water towards end. So delicious!

    I made this and was surprised I was out of rice, only had half of what was called for, substituted quinoa and added some zucchini, it was really tasty and is quite versatile. I believe I will be repeating this with more vegetables and other variables.

    Added minced beef to this, was very yummy and easy. Great to use up random veg as well, I'm sure anything would taste good thrown into this!

    Super easy and super good! I added cut up chunks of chicken to the the crock pot for the added protein. It was amazing. I also used chicken broth instead of water for flavor! Yummy!!
