  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 500 grams diced lamb (a little fat on the meat is fine)
  • 1 brown onion
  • 1/3 red chilli (long)
  • 1 celery stick (diced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (diced)
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala (powder)
  • 2/3 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ghee (or extra coconut if avoiding dairy)
  • 250 grams coconut milk (1 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 carrot (diced)
  • lime (Squeeze of, or lemon)
  • coriander (or parsley to garnish)

    Possibly one of the nicest curries I have ever tasted. Tastes more like a curry house meal than I could have imagined. We teamed it up with broccoli rice. Absolutely sublime.

    Very tasty. My family are raving about this dish. I made it in the slow cooker for 4 hours. I used a cheap piece of lamb leg roast and cut off all the fat and cut into chunks. Will definitely do again.

    I really nice mild lamb curry. I made the sauce on its own, simmering for 20 minutes and adding left over roast lamb and vegetables for the last 5 minutes.

    Was a bit dubious of cooked carrots in this, (considering I don’t like cooked carrot at the best of times but it works.) I followed the slow cooker version and was delighted to see a slow cooker version of the recipe as normally I have to adapt recipes for this. I used green chilli instead of red as I had this to hand. I messed up my quantities of spices as Yummly reverted back from 2 portions to 4 but it was successful anyway. Also had to make garam masala from what we had available and was impressed by instructions on how to do this. Awesome would deffo look into other recipes by the same blogger - will make again for sure.

    Fantastic flavor--a bit spicy but full of wonderful notes of indian spices. It's great with lamb but feel free to substitute it with any other type of meat.
