Description
Goulasch is a rich, hearty and aromatic dish that will stick to your bones and leave you feeling full and satisfied. This recipe takes 2 hours to make, so plan ahead. It could be a Sunday dinner, or made ahead of time and reheated. Even though this savory dish takes time to prepare and has a lot of ingredients, you will love the smiles on everyone's faces when the take their first bite.

- Place the oil and butter into a pan and saute the onion and garlic on medium heat for approximately 3 minutes, until soft. Add the paprika powders, tomato paste, sugar and bouillon. Once mixed well, add the tbsp. flour. Mix well.
- Add the beer and the broth, allow to boil and then lower the heat to low. Simmer on low heat, covered, for approximately 5 minutes.
- Add the carrots and the potatoes. Season the meat with a tbsp. of salt and a little pepper and add it to the pan. Also add the bay leaves, cumin and oregano.
- Leave simmering, covered, for approximately 1 1/2 hours until all the ingredients are well-incorporated and the meat is softened.
- Serve each bowl with a tbsp. of sour cream and a piece of bread.
