Stutenkerl is a sweet leavened dough, made in the shape of a man, traditionally served around St. Nicholas Day in German speaking countries. Lightly flavored with vanilla and lemon, these Stutenkerle are wonderfully fluffy on the inside. Shape into the form of a man by hand or with a large cookie cutter, cover with an egg wash to give your Stutenkerle some shine, and then create eyes and a mouth with raisins or other dried fruit.
