First off, there were a few steps missing from the recipe - how long do you cook the rice? And the directions should have mentioned to save the red onions so you don’t drop them in when it just mentions “onions”. The recipe was good. I modified by cooking the final step on the stovetop instead of in the oven. Also I added golden raisins because they have always been in Biryani that I have had and I love them. I just added these in the final cooking step, adding them on top of the rice. The recipe makes well more than 2 servings, easily 4. My family ate the meal and we had leftovers.
