- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 eggs (lightly beaten)
- 3 tablespoons cornflour (cornstarch)
- 10 tablespoons flour (plain, all-purpose)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 3 chicken breast fillets (chopped into bite-size chunks)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional - you can leave out and just sprinkle with plenty of sesame seeds at the end if you prefer)
- 2 cloves garlic (peeled and minced)
- 1 tablespoon Chinese rice vinegar (white wine vinegar will work too)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce (use more or less depending on the brand and how spicy you like it)
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- rice (Boiled)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 bunch spring onions (scallions, chopped)

Everyone really enjoyed this dish. Have made it a couple of times. Only real down side is that it is a bit messy and time consuming to make. I'm sure more practice will make it easier. Will definitely try again.

OMG A family favourite now awaiting unsuspecting friends for dinner, and they will be asking for the recipe for sure. There is nothing I don’t like in this day off recipe, one tip is to make sure you make enough sauce you want to be generous with that part so everything gets a good coating and you will either want your biggest pan or finish it off in a casserole dish in the oven, because it’s quite a squeeze. Add pancake rolls for a full on night in dish.

It was OK I didn’t have the sweet chili sauce and used regular chili sauce.. I feel this recipe needs something else in it. Maybe dry mustard? I would definitely make it again with the sweet chili sauce, and see how that turns out.

This was delicious and the kids loved it too. I had to use quite a lot more olive oil than the recipe said. I still shallow fried it, but I cooked it in a few batches and needed to add more as the batches progressed. I also stir fried some veggies in the pan afterwards and added them all together - carrots, broccoli, peppers.

My family really loved this dish. I however found it a little too sweet but looks delicious amazing in front of your eyes is tasty but I think next time I will make it less sweet by reducing honey and sugar.
