This is literally the best French toast ever!! My fiancé and I are a big hit every time we make this for friends.

Was ok but would like it to be crispy. I will be toasting it little more on a pan on the stove. The flavor as good

Very success and I pour the sugar butter mixture in the end on the bread instead still yummy not too sweet. I like it !

Turned out really good except I almost burned it. The brown sugar never got bubbly so I almost left it in too long. The middle stays very hot and some may not like the texture - it’s soft and custardy. I would eat this again but I’m not sure about my family. My kid wouldn’t touch it

I soaked the bread for less than 30 min but it was too wet and the bread doesn’t keep original form when flipped or moved to baking. Is it not supposed to be soaked or just dipped?

Taste was great. I had to increase the temp at the end to crisp it up. Will definitely cook again.

Yum! It is the best of both french toast and creme brûlée, we made it in a casserole dish instead of individual slices and worked really well! Caramelized the brown sugar on top at the end instead.

great! unfortunately made this on a whim and didn't have all that it called for (French bread, orange juice, half and half) and threw it in the freezer 4 about 10 minutes while oven was Heating... But based on how it still came out I'm excited to try it with the proper planning :-)

Great - I would also try with cinnamon. Didn’t soak overnight - just for about 30 minutes and still was quite good.

I dont normally like french toast but this was sooooo good. I did end up having to throw them in the frying pan to get them to crisp up a bit.

So good! Easy to make and delicious. Topped mine with fresh nectarines and a cream sherry syrup.

Tried it and my son and husband liked it. The bread came out really soft. Could be on our repeat list.

Delicious, did with std sliced bread and shortened the cooking time would definitely make again as saves the mess of frying it

I didn't use the French bread and refrigerate overnight. Instead, I used some brioche bread I had on hand and refrigerated for about an hour until all the liquid was soaked up. It came out wonderful!! I love this recipe and will definitely do it again!

I've been making French Toast for years (different recipes), but this is by far my favorite! My husband is a traditional bacon-and-eggs man and usually never wants any carb-based breakfasts, but he requests this almost every weekend; it's so delicious! The first time I made it, I cut the bread pretty thick and the inside didn't cook fully (you need to find what works with your oven). I started slicing the bread thicker than pre-sliced bread but thinner than the picture above, added 15 minutes to the cooking time, and it's perfect! The flavor and texture are amazing; we don't even add syrup; instead, we pile it high with strawberries and bananas. I saw another reviewer mention they couldn't get the brown sugar to bubble. I had that same issue with my oven, so I used non-stick aluminum foil instead of parchment paper and that fixed the problem. Now, my French Toast has a nice glazed side with that incredible crème brûlée flavor! This is favorite in our home, and I would highly recommend it!
