  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 750 milliliters milk (full or low fat)
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar (superfine sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or extract, Note 4)

  • 1/2 cup cornflour (/ cornstarch)
  • 3 cups cranberry juice (NOT low or no sugar, room temperature)
