Description
Buttery, nutty, and a touch crumbly, snowballs are among the most loved of Christmas cookies. The addition of chocolate chips puts them over the top. The recipe is a Yummly original created by Sara Mellas.

- Finely chop pecans. Put butter and powdered sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Beat with mixer on low speed to blend, then increase speed to medium and beat until soft and light. Add pecans and beat until distributed, scraping bowl as needed. Add salt, vanilla, and flour and beat on low speed to blend. Add chocolate chips and beat on low speed until distributed, scraping sides of bowl as needed.
- Line 2 sheet pans with parchment paper.
- Scoop 32 portions of dough, shape each into a ball, and set on prepared baking sheets 1 inch apart. (These cookies don't spread during baking.) Chill pans in the refrigerator while oven preheats.

I don't know what happened I followed the recipe perfectly but they were so crumbly you couldn't shape them in the balls what did I do wrong. I gave it three because it didn't work please let me know what the heck I could have done wrong cuz I bet they're delicious

This recipe turned out fantastic, and was a HUGE hit at Christmas. I was even surprised because the dough turned out pretty crumbly, but once you form them into balls and bake them they’re perfect. Definitely soften up the butter a while to reduce crumbliness, and you don’t need two different racks of the oven you can just use one in the middle and bake for longer. The undersides will be pretty golden and give a nice nutty flavor.
