  • 1 2/3 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 2 onions (cut into wedges)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

    Directions

    1. Combine chicken, yogurt, 1 tbsp of the lemon juice, spices and garlic in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
    2. Heat a grill pan on high heat or preheat the grill to medium-high. Thread chicken and onion alternately onto 12 metal skewers, reserving marinade; season. Cook kebabs 2-3 mins on each side until cooked through.
    3. Meanwhile, bring reserved marinade to a boil in a small saucepan. Reduce heat to low. Add tomato paste, cream and remaining 1 tbsp lemon juice. Simmer, uncovered, until sauce thickens slightly. Season to taste. Serve kebabs with yogurt sauce.
